The Waco Housing Authority and Waco TECH (Technology Expanding Community Horizons) collaborated to bring a new technology program, Community Connections Learning Centers (CCLC), to the Waco community. Located at each of the Waco Housing Developments, these learning centers provide community members with low- or no-cost access to technology such as the internet.
Community Connections Learning Centers provide access to computers for Waco Housing residents as well as the entire Waco community. The program, created with a grant from the Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Public Housing Neighborhood Networks Program, also includes specific training courses such as Web Design and Office Applications, job search strategies, and other resources, including self-paced basic and advanced computer learning.
